Praxis Learning makes every session engaging, and helps people practice what they learned back at work.

Mike Martin, Scott Winter and Brad co-founded it in 2023. Praxis is based in Chico, California.

Praxis was born from a simple frustration: when the training ends, the learning often does, too.

We created Praxis to break the cycle of one-and-done learning. As learning consultants, LMS experts and enablement specialists with decades of experience between us, we wanted a way to extend the impact of our in-person experiences by keeping teams connected, engaged, and actively practicing what they learned long after the event. Turns out, the struggle is real, and not just for us.

What we are authorized to disclose: Brad has been building software for a long time. He is remarkably good at it. He is the kind of developer who makes the complicated look inevitable. The thing that is actually there when you click a button, load a page, or watch something just work.

He has asked us to keep the rest to ourselves for now. We respect that. You will meet him eventually. In the meantime, just know: he exists, he is excellent, and Praxis works because of him.

Why Mike built it

“Good luck with that.”

Mike started as a camper at a YMCA camp, came back as staff, and learned his craft on a ropes course. From there it was corporate training rooms and executive offsites, then building the learning function at Build.com from nothing, then Chief Learning Officer at Litmos. Today he also teaches leaders at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education.

As he puts it: “Every LMS on earth tracks who finished the course. Including the two I helped run. None of them track whether anything actually changed once people got back to work.”
